Yes it was as good as it looks. Yes it took 5 minutes. A couple of weeks ago I made a big birthday dinner for my little brother and uncle who have birthdays in the same week. When I asked my brother what kind of cake he wanted he requested a German Chocolate Cake. I had never made a German chocolate cake, but never one to back down from a challenge, I set off to make a great one. I was short on time so I simply used a boxed cake mix but if you have a favorite from-scratch chocolate cake recipe use it and I’m sure it will be even more fabulous than this. I heard that this type of frosting could be done on the stovetop and so I set out to do just that.
I used my trusty cast iron pan for this as I do for most of my recipes. I’m in love with it and I’m someday I’m going to marry it. I will be in white of course. It will be in black.
